Does an electric cooling fan boost horsepower in 240 (2.1)? 200 1982

Hi there,
I'm considering replacing the mechanical cooling fan on my 1982 240, 2.1 (85K miles) with and electric cooling fan. You see, I was told that would provide a moderate increase in horsepower (8 to 10 horsepower). This is a great automobile, but can be pokey when pulling into fast moving traffic. What do you think?
