AC belt size? (and thanks, B.C.) 200 1984

I re-belted today and am back on the road.

One oddity: the crank-AC belt specified is 36 7/8 inches. But even with all six shims in the pulley that belt was significantly too loose. I got one that was a quarter-inch shorter and it fit fine with three shims.

Does this indicate that something's out of whack somewhere?

Job was really smooth after I took off the fan and shroud.

Also, how hard is it to pop out the accessory bushings if I wanted to replace them?
