Hi everyone:
Please forgive me if this has been answered before, but I was unable to find a post that specifically answered the following question.
I have a '91 740 that came with a four speaker stereo with amp and cassette from the factory. The front speakers are in the dash and the rears are in the back doors. The front doors do not have speakers in them (grilles but no speaker holes cut.)
I installed a new CD deck by using a Metra conversion harness that bypassed the stock amp. The deck works fine except that I get no output from the front speakers. Based on other posts, the amp only fed the rear speakers in the stock setup but the original cassette deck fed the fronts directly. I am 99% sure that I didn't screw anything up when I wired the new CD deck harness to the amp bypass and car power conversion harness. Do I have to wire the bypass harness to the front speakers directly? That doesn't make sense and no one said they had to do that in the earlier posts. Thanks for any advice!
