whats this threaded hole in the accelerator pedal?? cruise control?? turbo+?? 700 1988

hello brickers ...anyone know what the threaded hole is for on the accelerator pedal ?..i found a large metal switch on a vehicle at the junk yard but it has no electrical connections.. how does a switch work without connectors??...daryl from downunder :)
