I have a 740 auto which doesn't start every time. the starter works and battery is good-so I replaced the original (big white) fuel pump or inj relay. Wigglying the shifter when in P or N starts the car sometimes but doesn't appear to be the main culprit: on my other volvo(240) when the start inhibitor was starting to fail ther was voltage/current to the starter at all. Also after replacing the relay and checking contact points on CUBE shaped relays marked J & K,I noticed my headlights-low beams were on and stayed on regardless of switch position-I had to pull fuses-HELP! Are J &K relays same and what are their function? I've read FAQ's and I have experience working on volvos but I lack the troubleshooting skills to solve this.thanks for any advice and the long post.mark great forum!
