1998 V90 hood will not open S90-V90

hello and thanks in advance.

I had a loose hood cable release. I tightened it by shortening the
cable on the passenger latch release. I closed the hood to check my
results...Big mistake.

Now the passenger latch has released but the driver's side latch will not
release.

Is there a way to release the mechanism from the front or from below? The two person method has not worked so far.
