91 940 Turbo
The "AC push OFF" pushbutton quit working; i.e., when the button is raised the AC won't come on. I heard that this is common problem resolved by re-soldering the ACC board. I had another idea: I traded an old wiring harness for an '86 that I no longer own for a used ACC board. (local volvo parts place in Atlanta called Voluparts). The only difference between my ACC board and the one that I got is the new one has a snowflake on the pushbutton whereas mine has the backwards logic "AC push OFF" label.
I installed the new snowflake unit and alot of dash warning lights came on ..like the battery light, airbag light, service engine light, check engine light. So I unplugged the unit and installed the old one that doesn't work.
Can anyone confirm that the snowflake unit won't work on the "push-OFF" units on 91 940 turbos?
I suppose I'll go back to Voluparts today ..but the guy said it would work. He didnt' have any with the "push-Off" label. By the way...can you imagine engineering a circuit that stays ON unless you depress a button that says "push OFF?" geeze.
Anyone know how I can fix the existing ACC board?
Help.
