Opening a rear door 700

A friend of mine has a (88?) 740 and the right rear door latch doesn't work, so he can't open the door.
I'm a old 240 man, although I do have a 92 940 (wife's car), so i'm not familiar with the 740 latch.
How can I get the door open for him?
I'm sure that I can correct the problem after I get it open.

Any suggestions?
