Hello,
I am new to internet forum so please forgive any faux pas...
I have a 1984 254 DL, auto, with 119K. I am replacing all A/C components except for the condenser and a couple of hoses.
My question concerns the York piston compressor. The York manual says to put in ~14 oz (using ester in case I want to convert to 134A later). My shade tree mechanic says to "squirt oil" in all other components as well.
Do I subract from the York capacity(14 oz)with whatever I put into other components? Does 14 oz sound correct?(seems high from what I have read in other posts)
What is system capacity for my car?
Does the oil in the York circulate through the system or does is stay in the "crankcase" ie: is york quantity separate from system capcity?
This website has been extremely helpful with keeping my car on the road. Any experienced input on this matter is much appreciated.
