I've got an intermittent and annoying windshield wiper problem.
Symptoms:
The wiper won't always turn off when the switch is put back to the "off" position.
The slowest/intermittent setting doesn't work normally: it's the same is the slow setting.

The wiper switch seems to have 4 positions:
top=intermittent
down one = off
down two=slow
down three=fast

Is the problem most likely in the switch or in the relay. Where is the relay located?

What I've done: I took the wiper switch out of the steering column, cleaned the contacts, and sprayed the interior of the switch. The problem remains.
