Glove Box won't open 700 1991

Opened my glove box today to get something out, and when I went to put it back in there, the box won't open. The knob turns and feels like normal, but when I pull on the knob, the door won't open. Feels like it is still latched shut

And, no, it is not locked: I tried that.

How do I get it open? Can I just remove the door, or do I need to get the door open first in order to remove it and repair the latch.
