The temperature gauge on my 1989-244 was swinging wildly so after a search of the brickboard I realized the Temperature Compensation Board was at fault. The search described how to remove the board and solder a wire between posts #1 and #3 on the main board using caution not to get the main board to hot. This was a great help solving the problem however I was concerned that my limited soldering skills could fowl up the main board.

Here is the solution I came up with;

I removed the Temperature Compensation Board and identified posts #1 and #3. I scraped all the foil from the Temperature Compensation Board that came in contact with the 4 posts. Then I soldered a wire between the connectors for posts #1 and #3 on the Temperature Compensation Board and checked my work with an ohm meter. I reinstalled the modified Temperature Compensation Board and the temp gauge works fine.

I felt this modification was safer (for me) than soldering on the main board.
