I just dealt with this Jeff LaPoff guy who runs this outfit and I am extremely angry. He is the classic scam artist.

Nobody should buy a car from without a lot of care.

a.) He believes Carfax reports are a scam and takes offence when you want run one
b.) He will promise to fix the dents, broken mirrors, doors not opening and take. your deposit, to then does not fix them and wants to back out of the deal or raise the price because his "margins are so low".
c.) I found the bottom half of the broken mirror in the trunk, however the top half of the mirror was still broken. Claimed it was done by previous owner but too expensive for him to fix
d.) I saw his employee Herb scratch the paint around the door handle thinking it was dirt and chip of thumb-sized chunk of paint and then whipped out a small bottle of black paint to cover it up.

You mention seeing these things and he will claim he is a stand-up guy and in business for a long time. All I can say is, if you buy something from him do it with a healthy dose of distrust.
