Hello all,
My wife's 740 Turbo 1986 starts fine, but instead of idling it just stalls. If I keep pressure on gas pedal, I can maintain sufficient RPMs to prevent stalling and car performs fine including acceleration.
Unless I keep this pressure on gas, car will stall each time I stop.
I have managed, by adjusting that little knob under that mechanical device which is linked by wire to the gas pedal, to get the motor to idle at around 450 or 500 RPMs, but can't go any further and motor's idle is rather bumpy.
I'm not mechanically savvy but am a decent handyman. After reading through the FAQ, I'm not sure what needs to be replaced, the Bosch Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve, the Air Mass Meter or something else.
Any knowledgeable opinion on this problem out there ?
