Awwwww man! Another moral dilemma 200

Today I once again became the proud owner of a charity case 240, this time for the whopping price of nada!

It's an '86 GL wagon with black leather (real leather) seats. I intended to use it for misc. parts, possibly swap the black interior into my sedan (which, btw, I decided is doable but not desirable) and sell what I didn't want as parts. But...it runs so well!

OK, the good: The passenger seat and back seat are uncracked, the carpet is really nice, if filthy, the door panels are great, the hand brake cover is uncracked. The body is straight. Good coronas with new-ish tires. The tranny shifts great. The best part is that the engine (2nd year of the B230F) has around 130,000 miles on it. Still a baby!

The bad: Driver's seat is cracked up. The car is filthy, everywhere! A minor front end collision left the grill supports a little twisted and some of the trim missing. There is rust, only in the floor pan, and not extensive. With that few miles, I bet a lot of the suspension is original. The silver paint is toast.

So my options are to either 1) fix the car up a bit and give it or sell it cheap to a friend who needs it or 2) strip it, take the parts I want, sell the more desirable parts and send the rest to the junk yard. There are some other options that are less realistic - like turn it into a badass ratrod 245 and keep it - but the above two are the most likely to happen.

I would like to strip it to the bone and distribute the spoils but dad wants to save it and give it a new lease on life with a needy driver. The latter idea is far more noble and I too like helping folks out whenever possible...but that's what I did with my last cheap 240. I want one for me and my cannibalistic tendencies. Is that wrong?

What would you folks do?
