[B230FT. More details below, after the simple questions]

Q1) what diameter clips go on the heater inlet and outlet hoses? (I'd rather not take the car out of use to find out...)
Q2) when replacing rear pads and rotors, what other hardware should I have on hand? Places like FCP Groton and IPD sell shims and hardware kits -- are those worth getting? (I don't want to have to abort the job midway... my car should have the Girling calipers, as I understand it.)
Q3) FCP Groton sell a "multi function relay" (pno 1323592), does anyone have experience with this? it seems like a useful part to have in the car just in case. Any other emergency parts/tools that people like?

(Details: I've had this middle-aged (207k miles) 780 for a few months and its service history is mostly unknown. I've done routine service: plugs, wires, oils, filters, distr cap and rotor. The plan is to replace the timing belt, accessory belts, water pump and seals, oil seals, tensioner, balancer; Radiator, heater, reservoir, turbo coolant hoses. Heater valve. All vacuum hoses. Thermostat. Alternator. Sound reasonable?)
