I am posting here because I have had a 122 for a while and I have gotten to see most of you around here.
Today I acquired a new ride.
I was at church the on sunday, and of course I drove my 122s. When I came out there was anote on the window, and as I was reading it, the guy that wrote it strolled up. He said that a couple of years ago, a guy gave up on a 1800 project and gave him the car. He never did anything and just wanted the car out of his back yard, and did I want it. The answer was of course, YES!
I figured it was going to be a heap, but I hought I might be able to salvage stuff off of it. Then I went to look at it. WOW! It was a beauty. The first guy had stripped it and painted it before giving up. The body was almost PERFECT. there are a couple of dents in the top of the front fenders where a garage door came down on it, but oither than that, not even a door ding.
There is no rust that I have found, ANYWHERE! and all the glass is there except drivers window.
The engine is complete, with dual SU's and a brake booster. And all the guages are in great condition. This car is AWESOME!
I offered to pay him something for the car, but he figured it ws gieven to him, so he just passed it on. H efigured since I had an old volvo, I might actually finish the car.
My wife has already called it as hers.
I called it an ant farm because as it was sitting in the back yard, about 100,000 ant have called it home. I couldn't get into the car because of them. So as my buddy towed it with a strap. I an along side the car and reached in to steer it. Luckily , I happen to live only 3 blocks from the guy giving it to me.
Here are some pics as it arrived at my house
