AC (replacement) questions 900

My '93 944T came without certain AC items.
The previous? owner cut/snipped out the large aluminum line and hose that runs underneath in front of the engine and towards the dryer?
There has never been a belt on the comp since I owned the car (46K miles) so needless to say I have no AC. I don't know why all were disconnected.

1. How do I know if comp is still good (it does spin)
2. where do I get parts, such as hoses and lines.
3. Is there a procedure for checking condenser, B-4 system is up and running?
4. Can you pressure test radiator?
5. Should I try to fix or start all over?
6. What are the weak components in the OEM system?
7. Can I check-out dryer B-4 system is up and running?
8. What does it cost and is it woth it?

I have read some of the older (544,122,200) threads where people put in "kits" I don't have that type of room so I must use the OEM type parts and spaces.
Let me know as I need to convince my spouse that it is worth the cost eventhough she doesn't like me spending money on that 'junker'.
