Hello all,
I discovered that the 84 LH 2.0 that I bought many years ago from a Volvo mechanic has the yellow top injectors meant for the 2.4 system. I'm sure he must have been the one to change these out, hoping for some performance advantage.
My question would be, is this a known advantage, or a disadvantage?
Do these injectors flow more or less?
This car has always had some drivability and performance issues that I can never pinpoint. It pings or is on the verge of pinging under light throttle in 3rd and O.D., and always just seems to run lean. All of the usual suspected issues have been taken care of.
My thought is how can the system work properly with a foreign component, wouldn't the ECU be confused?
My local pic-n-pull has an 83 currently, I'm tempted to pull those injectors and swap them for mine. New ones are to pricey for an experiment.
What do you guys think?
