Arrived Alive! 200 1986

Well, the 245 made the 2800+ mile trip from Charlotte, NC to Rochester, Wa in rare form, making 70 to 75 mph for the bulk of the trip except the mountains with spurts to 81 mph by the GPS. We got 20 to 24 mpg overall on premium gas and used 1/2 quart of oil. This car has 250,000+ on the engine and tranny.

Thanks for all of the support, I will post pictures to the other website when we return to Charlotte in a few weeks.

BTW, we saw no other Volvos from St. Louis to Billings, Mt and one newer model in Billings. The car got some looks when we blew by folks on the interstate and one good look by a South Dakota Trooper that thought we were terrorists or something. Oh well, if you don't get stopped every now and then, you probably are not driving hard enough.

Regards,
