I recently dismantled my heater to remove my blower motor and I believe I've figured that problem out. However, as soon as I put the heater back together, minus the blower motor, I immediately started having other problems. I need to have the heater intact, even minus the motor, because it provides me with just enough ambient heat to defrost my windshield while driving. Yes, my "hobby car" is my daily commuter. Anyhow, the first problem was a flickering of the dashboard lights, at first intermittent, now they are mostly just off. That happened as soon as I started up my car after finishing putting my heater back together. The next issue to surface a day later was my temperature guage began to malfunction. It is no longer the least bit accurate. A day later my fuel pump died. My local mechanic helped me out by replacing the pump while I was at work, and confirmed that my temperature sensor was bad, but wasn't able to trace them all back to any one problem. Are all these problems purely coincidental? Anyone? Aside from these issues she's mechanically sound. Motor and tranny are tip top (knock on wood).
