hard to start sitting over night 95 940 900

the car will crank over but will not start immediately. i have to continue cranking short burst about 10 or 15 times until it will finally start. at first it runs rough for about a minute and then levels off. sometimes i crank so long i have to get a booster. after the first start it starts perfect. or until it sit for a long time. please help
