740 aluminium differential cover on a 240 200

I pulled a aluminium differential cover off a 1990 740. I thought it might look good polished with clear powder on it on my 240. It bolts right on to a 240 axle. Even though the 740 had ABS and the 240 doesn't it looks like the speedometer sensor lines up and the connector is the same and it might work with no issue. Has anyone tried this?
