Turbo+ system diagnosis 700 1988

My 1988 740 Turbo wagon has the Turbo+ system. I know it worked when I bought the car (it had 186k then, now has 225k miles), I could see (and feel) a sudden increase in boost looking at the boost gauge when driving at WOT above ~4000 RPM. I very rarely drive in that condition, but at some point the system stopped working. Is there a common failure mode? There are no strange symtoms, there just isn't any extra boost kicking in. All the hardware is still in place and isn't visibly damaged. Is there a way to test the WOT switch? What else should I be checking? Thanks -
