Stupid question about tie rods 900

Hi, I had a stupid question about tie rods..

I was going to replace my tie rod ends on my 93 940 (175k). My concern and question is related to the inner tie rod. Is there any danger that I can mess something up if I rotate the inner tie rod when I try to remove the outter end?

Does the inner made to turn anyway, or should it be non-rotating? If I do remove the outter and I somehow turn the inner, do I need to do something to fix it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
