Valve Noise and High CrankCase Pressure 900

95 940, B230FD, 146,000 miles

I have very high pressure in the engine. When I put my hand over the oil fill cap, you can fill the air just gushing out. Replaced the flame trap, all hoses, and the flame trap holder. Made sure the nipple on the intake manifold was cleaned out where one of the hoses go. Also cleaned out the air intake hose to make sure there was no blockage where the other hose from the flame trap connects. The problem is still there. I put a hose on the breather box and met some resistance. So I am going to change out the breather box to see if this alleviates the problem. If this doesn’t help, then I am scared.

Another issue is that my valves are noisy..tick tick tick tick tick. Sounds like a damn diesel. The “tick tick” noise only appears after the engine warms up, but the car still has that diesel characteristic sound even when cold. How common are noisy valves in the 940?

Anyway…the question is whether the valve noise could be a result of the high pressure within the engine or they separate issues all together?
I am changing the breather box this weekend, but I am a bit impatient to find out for myself, so I thought I would ask everyone here.
