Thinking of buying 1982 244 from local dealer 200

Hi Everybody, We were the proud owners of an 1984 240DL until it had repeated issues and we needed something more reliable. We sold it in 2004. But ever since we have wanted another one and I think we may have found one. It's a 1982 244 turbo sedan with an auto trans, 92K miles. It's extremely clean inside and out. It has two issues that we know of: {1}the first is the AC does not work. The dealer said the compressor is either one of two models that are distinguishible by 1 or 2 points or splines. We don't really remember what he called them. Anyway, one compressor is almost $400 more than the other. He stated that the car needed the less expensive compressor. {2}The other issue is apparently that the previous owner put a pushbutton switch in the dash that needs to be depressed while you turn the key to start the car. The dealer tried starting the car many times but it would just stall. The switch is hooked up to the electric fuel pump. After several minutes and multiple start attempts it finally idled and stayed on. I have a couple of questions. What is this car worth? Also, has anyone heard of this ignition/pushbutton setup? If this switch is removed will the car start normally? This is probably a tall order, but any help we get is very much appreciated. Thanks Miguel and Charlotte, Volvo Lovers
