Hi Folks,
I've had my 940 (wagon, automatic, 110,000 miles) for about 4 years and it was great until the fuel pump died. I replaced the fuel pump and it started up every time until about a month ago when it refused to start. I put a test spark plug on number one plug wire and see no spark while she is cranking. I took off the coil and put it on a good 240 and it worked fine so eliminate the coil as a problem. I bought a used distributor on ebay for 29.95, put it on and still no start. I put a used ignition module in place of the original and still no start. Not sure if the used ignition module and distributor are good or not but I hope that the odds may be in my favor.
Does the CPU play a role in the ignition system?
I also pulled the plug on the Mass Air Flow Transducer - no start.
I jumped the fuel pump so no worries about the relay. I hear fuel flowing in the rail.
Did not check the speed sensor on the flywheel.
Please help
Thanks
Jerry
