Interior, hissing sound when engine shut down 200

My 1990 240 sedan, automatic has developed a new trick. Upon engine shutdown there is an interior, hissing sound from the area near the airflow controls. All controls seem to work. The vaccum line that runs through the firewall and visible connections seem intact. Does anyone know what this sound is? Is it anything to worry about? What needs to be repaired?
