144 Bumpers on 1800e 1800 1972

Heard that one could put 144 bumpers on an 1800e, in this case a 1972 1800e. Not sure if this is the case, and may not be interested anyway, but wanted to find out if it's possible. Would potentially give the 1800e a more stable and substantial bumper set, so just checking out my options.
