London to dakar on cheap cars?!?!? 200

Sorry for the random question but a search has turned up nothing on google.
I once saw on top gear or 5th gear..something to that effect that there is a rally held from london to dakar that can only be run on very inexpensive cars..a-la 24 hours of lemons.
Anyone has any links or other info on this?
Yes thinking of doing it in a volvo...240...wagon :)
