A few months ago I replaced intank fuel pump. In doing so when lifting up the pump/sender unit the old sock came off and I could not get it out of tank . It floated over to outside area out of circular pit area under access hole. After trying for nearly an hour I gave up and installed new pump with new sock and sender unit and put it all back together. Has been fine for nearly 3000 miles ans couple of months. Unfortunately as of this past week pump has been audibly noisy. It is intermittant. I think that maybe lost sock has re-appeared and is blocking up fuel entry. Any easy way to catch & remove this sock ? I really do not want to have to remove tank. Also if tank has a drain hole which I am not sure if it does it probably would be too small for sock to exit through. Thanks for help & advice with this.
