New 240 questions.. 200 1983

Bought this 290K-ish 83 240GL the other week for not much, drove it home a ways.
Been poking around on it and have a few questions.

Owner said it got a rebuilt head with an "A" cam 30K or so ago. It looks like a K-jet head, has plugged ports on the intake side that look like where k-jet injectors might have been. And it did have a bit more pickup than I remembered other 240 autos having I've driven. Anyway, the wiring harness has been patched a bit, and I was trying to make sure all the sensors had some sort of wires on them at least. It looks like, they used the front most hole in the head with an adapter for the LH temp sensor, while I thought they were usually under the 3rd intake runner. There is a K-jet looking sensor in that 3rd spot, but nothing is plugged in it. There is also the temp sensor for the gauge, single wire, and I think that's it. There is a random wire off the harness that has a female spade lug on it but isn't hooked to anything, it's light green or light blue.
I can't see where that should be coming from. I have an 863 DL parts car I think I could get the harness off and use, I guess I probly should. Is the engine harness different when one has the black dist cap and one white?

And the stinking thing has solid disks! Why in heck would a GL have solid disks!
