Well, assuming it is the pump, but I had the u-joint on the column replaced ($$, too) so I hope it is the pump and not the rack. It's very hard to turn, especially on cold mornings. At first a fluid change eased things, but not so much any more.

Thanks for any advice on replacing the pump.
