Hi, I'm a longtime BBoard member and owner of six 244s (not a typo). One of them, a '91 automatic, is hard to start when cold. When first turned over, the engine cranks and cranks. It may fire on the first crank, but will not catch. It usually starts on the second try. When finally started, it runs real well. It starts easily when warm.
I've tried a lot of things to fix this problem:
- Cleaned the throttle plate, including all of the small holes.
- Checked for vacuum leaks and induction leaks.
- Replaced the in-tank fuel pump and filter.
- Extensive tune-up, including plugs, air filter, etc.
- Replaced fuel pressure regulator.
I have not changed the main fuel filter.
I am at wits end, and turn to the collective wisdom of the Board for troubleshooting advice. Please...
