Fast Idle on B21FT 200 1983

I've exhausted the usual fixes and am seeking help from the board. My '83 240 with a B21FT has suddenly developed a very fast idle (3K) at startup. This will last a good 20 min when it begins to alternate between normal and high. Eventually it goes normal. The engine is pretty much stock except for an MSD ignition. I have the MSD Tach Amp to provide a good signal for the tach, fuel pump and a feed to the CIS idle computer. Besides the MSD was in a year before this began. I've ruled out linkage problems and air leaks (I believe). Any suggestions? Thanks.
