Strong gas smell, no leaks 900 1993

Hello,

Twice in the last 2 weeks I started smelling a very strong gas smell in my '93 945T. I had replaced the fuel filter the week before, so that was the first item I checked, but there were no leaks. Also no leaks in the engine compartment, or anywhere under the car. This puzzles me, as AFAIK no gas or vapor lines go inside the car, right?
What should I check?
