getting to the radio amp--taking the center console off? 200 1991

got a new cd deck that i'm gonna put in my '91. from what i learnt from the archives, my car has its amp behind the lower coin tray (stock radio being in upper slot) in the center console. what's involved in getting to that amp (which is going the way of trash can)? do i need to take the center console off or is there some way that i can take the coin tray out and get to the amp? thanks.
