Safety comparison - Brick vs. Accord with side and head airbags

Like the rest of you, I feel very safe in my brick. More importantly, I think my wife and kids are safe in them. However I sure wish it had side and head airbags instead. And I find my self wondering if my kids would be safer in a 2007 Honda Accord or Civic that has side and head airbags. I'm practically certain they would in the event of a side collision.

What do you guys think? Wouldn't a 2007 Accord with side and head airbags be safer than a 1992 Brick? Why or why not?

I know that weight is a big determinant and the 240 sedan weights 2950 to 2998 pounds and the 2007 Accord 4 cyl. weights about 3150, so no edge to the Brick there.
