Went to start my '82 240 (K-jet, white cap) this cold morning, after cranking a few revolutions, I heard a muffled "pop". I killed the starter, waited a sec, and cranked it over again. It started, but the idle was way high (2000rpm), and went even higher when I rev'd it a bit. I put it gear and noticed right away that the power brakes booster is out. Shut down the engine, had a look under the hood, started it again. This time it idled low and ran rough and missed.
What do you think? A ruptured power brake diaphram? Constant idle motor frozen open? I was going to see if I could get a suction pump onto the brake booster to see if it held vacuum...
