My 20 year-old son has been driving this car for the last half year or so. I drove it one day and told him that he neede to bleed the brakes, the pedal seemed quite low and pumped up a little - that if bleeding didn't do it, he probably needed a master cylinder. He bled what he could - he broke 3 bleed screws, 2 from the top! Now it doesn't pump up but is low. Solutions? He has virtually no money.
1) If it doesn't pump up now, not master cylinder, right?
2) Should he try just bleeding the lines in front of the calipers where the top bleed screw is ruined?
3)I've never messed with just replacing the bleed screws (I just replace the caliper), but these calipers aren't that old, any chance he can do that with an easy-out?
4) Would appreciate any money-saving suggestions, thanks.
