Good afternoon. I have read all the warnings about the possibility of cracking the cast iron crankshaft using air tools to remove the crank pulley on a B230, but amidst the posts I get the distinct impression that a lot of you do in fact use air tools for this purpose. I have heard anecdotally that auto repair facilities use air tools for this as a matter of course. Does anyone have experience with cracked cranks? Do most or any of you use air tools for this job?
