Rear Cam seal.. what I didn't know 200 1989

I did this job the other day as a preventative measure. There was a misting of oil on my Bellhousing that seemed like it might be coming from that Seal.

I took off the Valve Cover and the rear bearing Cap to lift the 'Puck' straight up. I was very surprised to see that there was no machined groove in the Block or on the Cap. I thought this Puck slid down between a groove. So the only thing hold the Puck in place is a slight squeeze from the rear Bearing cap...that's it.
Even though I am good about checking the Flame trap to keep the pressure from building in the engine,That's scary.
I ,of course, cleaned and used a little gasket sealant on the puck but now I know for sure that I will make the bracket that holds the Puck from totally popping. I'll see if I can make it with the small hump like the one IPD sells. I'll make a 1:1 drawing in PDF format for anyone interested.
