Yet another 'is all OIL brand the same' thread - Wal-Mart Tech brand 200 1989

I was at Wal-mart the other--I know, I'm supporting the oppressive, evil empire, capitalistic killing machine of America, land of the brave, home of the free except if you're a minority and working at Wal-Mart--looking to see if they had the Valvoline MaxLife 10W-40 oil that they sometimes have in a box of 5 qts for a very nice price. Nope, they didn't, but I did happen to see a 5qt jug of their in-house Tech oil that competes with Valvoline's MaxLife. The jug was even red and had the same marketing words on it. It was priced a little under $8. I know this question has been asked to death, but can someone tell me if the WAl-Mart oil is the same as Valvoline's MaxLife oil. I'm pretty particular about using the same oil brand consistently and have been pampering my wagon with MaxLife 10W-40, and I usually get this stuff when it's on sale or there is some rebate on it. No way am I gonna spend around $3 something for a qt of that stuff. It seems to patch up the slight oil leak I had underneath, so I'm sticking to it! For the same price I know I can go synthetic, but I'm a bit hesitant about that since I've read posts about synthetic being too "fine" that it will cause more leaks or something about its vleaning agents dissolving the gunk that actually seals up any leaks. Anyway, anyone have any experience with Wal-Mart Tech oil?
