Parking my 89 245 for a while What should I do? 200 1989

Hi all,

I am parking my '89 245 for a while until I can get some time to do the needed repairs. Is there anything I should do to the car before parking it, i.e. disconect battery, etc. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It needs a suspension overhaul since all parts are original with 265,000 miles on her. I am afraid to drive it and worsen any existing problems. All should be well after I change shocks, struts, bushings etc. I just don't have the time now and don't foresee any time freeing up before summer; so I will be parking it.

It has been parked for a month or so and I have noticed two oil leaks that have formed near rear main. Could be dropping off either side of a cross member but I don't know for sure. I would hate to have something get messed up from it sitting for so long.

Thanks to all who reply in advance.

Hoping to hear from you brickers out there,
Chip in Raleigh, NC
