Did my front strut freeze up due to COLD weather???? 200

86 244 70k miles

When I left for work this morning it was 1 degree outside (burrr). When I started driving, I noticed that the car was really bouncing around oddly, and I thought that perhaps my front drivers tire had gone flat. I stopped and looked and noticed that the driver side strut seemed to be compressed and frozen in that position (when I tried to bounce on the drivers front end, it would not give). The passenger side was OK. After 30 minutes of driving, all was back to normal. Was this due to the cold, or could my struts be on the way out (I just had them replaced 30k miles ago)???? Was my strut indeed "frozen"?

Thanks
