Injectors 700 1986

My 1986 740GLE (B230F) has run rich since I pulled the engine to put in a new clutch. Have replace the IAC, both temp sensors, and all 4 injectors. The TPS and AMM is working. Out of curiosity, I pulled the connectors on each injector while the engine was running and when I pulled #1 or #4, nothing changed - still running badly. When I pulled #2 or #3, the engine dies. Any thoughts?
