Last night I got a call from my wife who had taken the 88 765 to the mall with one of my daughters. The car, which was driven shortly before by me, could not be started as the ignition would not turn. I told her all of the standard yadda yadda over the phone, then sent another key down, then had the car rollbacked home (Thank You AAA!).
After removing the ignition switch, air bag, and steering wheel, there is nothing to see. This car has the tilt wheel column with the ignition parallel to the dash and the steering lock internal in the column. None of my manuals reference this model and there is no button to release the ignition tumbler itself. Does anyone have experience with this or is it time to put a 740 column in?
Regards,
