Hi there,
The fuse of the central door lock on my 240 '88 is jumpin' as soon as I put a new one. I followed the infos I found in this site and disconnet the white molex plug under the steering column. To troubleshoot, I did:
- remove driverside door panel and inspect wiring and door lock switch and accordeon. nothing there...
- I disconnected the grey plug in the door to isolate this door from the rest to see if it's still was the problem area.
I did the curlpin trick in the white molex plug: When I ground the green wire I hear that every door pins are unlocking (except the driver's door of course!) BUT, when I ground the red wire (locking doors) my fuse is burning right away.
I've inspected the hatchdoor hinge and other accordeon but can't find anything. Is there a way to troubleshoot this short without opening every door panel and carpet???? Why is just when I try to lock the door that the short come out. Can a bad relay be the cause of short???
Help me out please, I'm getting crazy with it!!!!! :0
Also, stupid question I think: somebody stole my block heater plug that lies outside the radiator grill. I went to install a new plug to the wiring harness but got confuse. The harness as one green wire (positive?????) and two other black wire. Assuming that the green goes to the positive end of the new plug, how do I decide which of the black wire from the harness goes to the negative end of the new plug and to the ground end??
thanks anyway,
sorry for the bad english, I'm french!
