B230F Air Auxiliary Valve? 200 1990

I bought another (dead) Volvo (1990 245) to fix-up for one of my kids; Flipping through the glovebox Owners Manual I noticed something puzzling ---
In the "engine cranks but doesn't start" section it lists likely causes: "vacuum leaks: manifold, hoses, and, air auxiliary valve."

I thought that the air auxiliary valve was only on earlier (B21) engines.

Can somebody clarify this for me? Thanks.
